Speaking Truth to Power is an independent organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization was founded on the belief that a world without nuclear weapons would be safer than the increasingly nuclear world in which we live. While this end may seem unrealistic or unattainable to some, it is true of every great movement that it had to begin somewhere. Speaking Truth to Power believes that the first step to a less dangerous world is to ensure that more citizens have access to more information.
Speaking Truth to Power aims to increase the information available to the public by requiring government agencies and entities to produce information under the Freedom of Information Act, a sweeping federal law that has been in effect since 1967. The organization has involved itself in suits in various federal courts across the country. While the process of attaining this valuable information is one that requires patience and persistence, the same can be said of any valuable change.
Speaking Truth to Power was founded by Jules Zacher, Esquire. Jules Zacher Esquire is a sole practitioner engaged in the practice of law since 1974. Mr. Zacher has tried cases in both federal and state courts since that time. He is currently engaged in representing victims of Legionnaires’ disease in various courts across the country. Mr. Zacher received his law degree and Master of Arts in Economics from Temple University. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
As of August, 2006, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Council for a Livable World and on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law. He is a member of various committees at the Philadelphia Racquet Club. He is an avid reader of non-fiction, has lived and worked in Paris, France and Budapest, Hungary, and plays court tennis. He was born in 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. |

Speaking Truth to Power Welcomes You!
It is an unfortunate reality that we live in a dangerous world. Some dangers are right out in the open for all to see and understand. Others are harder to grasp, out of sight, and out of mind. In an increasingly nuclear environment, Speaking Truth to Power believes that understanding the danger behind these discouraging developments is the first step in turning foreign policies away from a monumentally dangerous course.
